In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to embroider fabric using simple, beginner-friendly stitches.

We will cover how to transfer a design onto your bandana, properly thread and secure your needle, and use the beginner stitches to create your custom design. Participants will receive step-by-step guidance and can choose to personalize their bandana with a word, name, or a small design.

All supplies are included, and you will leave with a custom embroidered bandana and the tools to keep embroidering at home! If you have a specific design or font you would like to try and embroider, please print it out and have it ready to trace.

About the teacher:

Melissa Hawkins is a lifelong crafter and self-taught artist who works across many mediums, including drawing, painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and handmade jewelry. She believes the value of art lies in the act of making, not the final result.

She is constantly exploring new crafts and techniques, regardless of imperfection or how many unfinished projects she has piling up. Most pieces are made with the close supervision of her loving cat, Kiki, who faithfully keeps Melissa company and leaves her fur on every project.
