In Crochet 101, granny squares, students will learn the basics of crochet.
The class takes place on two days:
The first part of the class will focus on yarn and hook fundamentals then we will learn stitches including the chain, slip stitch and double crochet. In the second session, we will learn to read a crochet pattern and make a granny square. You will leave with your own crochet hook and a skein of yarn to keep practicing on your own.

About the instructor:
A recent graduate from UTK's architecture program, Melissa Lozano Lykes has been crocheting since age 4 and added knitting to their repertoire next. Their projects range from hats and scarves to a patchwork blanket used to display practice learning new skills. They are driven by a desire to help others create cool things they enjoy.
