As a society (or culture), we’ve fallen into a single story of depression, one where we understand this experience only as a medical disorder that we treat with medication and/or psychotherapy. The reality is a spectrum of depressive experiences, not all resulting in a medical diagnosis, all of which need to be represented and understood.

When we look at depression as a form of disconnection, not just a disorder, we make space to take a deeper look. This workshop expands the story of depression and considers how being disconnected from your bodies, your place, your people, from source, and from hope create the experience of depression. You will learn more about Regina's story and how she got into this work, how to work with depression as disconnection, and start to map where you’re disconnected.

You can expect to learn more about Regina's research and participate in wellness coaching. This is brave space to explore your experience with depression and identify areas you can focus on to make impactful changes for how you feel.

Topics/Themes Covered: Depression, Maps, Expansion & Contraction, Medicalization, Darkness, Cross-Cultural Research, Interpellation, Deep Listening, Courage, Vulnerability, & Connection
