Turn your holiday tablescape into a family heirloom!

In this hands-on class, you’ll use hand-carved block prints created by Forest & Fern featuring local Appalachian plants and animals to personalize cloth napkins, tablecloths, runners, and other fabric pieces for your holiday gatherings. Learn the basics of block printing, experiment with patterns and placement, and create one-of-a-kind rustic, seasonal pieces that will make your family gatherings feel as nostalgic as they are delicious.

Purchase price includes all stamping materials, inks and instruction. Bring your own pieces to be stamped or purchase blank table-setting items from The Chattery’s Creative ReSupply (pieces range from $1 to $10).

Bring clothing hangers for drying items and wear clothes that can get inky.

About the teacher:

Caleigh Bird is a block print artist, college art professor, and firm believer that beautiful, well-made items make everyday life feel a little more enchanted. When not teaching or in her home studio, she’s usually hiking ridge-lines or cruising the backroads in her converted camper van Vaughn, gathering textures, patterns, and quiet moments that later find their way into her carvings. Just as much as the Appalachian wildlife discovered on her adventures, Caleigh’s work is heavily inspired by her tribe: women who cherish slow mornings, well-used sketchbooks, and pockets full of found leaves and feathers.
