This one-hour Hula class will introduce you to the beautiful cultural dance that comes from the Hawai'ian people.

After first discussing the history of Hula, the class moves into embodying the foundational steps with that cultural understanding. You are invited to bring a scarf to tie around your waist or a skirt to wear - this is optional! There will be a few extras available for anyone that would like to borrow one.

About the teacher:

Kendra Norwood is a Dance Teaching Artist, with the mission of creating more access to dance for all communities. She works with the Pop-up Project in Chattanooga, serving students across the city. Years of travel inspired her deep respect and interest in cultural dance. While Kendra lived in Kona, Hawai'i, she learned Hula from a native kumu (teacher), and received her blessing to share this knowledge.
