Keeping vigil with one who is in their final days can be holy and sacred ground. In this very special session, we share about the practice of keeping vigil and the benefits of being present.

Nina Guertin, trained End-of-Life/Death Doula, has over 25 years of experience and Michelle Goble, trained End-of-Life/Death Doula, has over 8 years of experience, will be leading our session. They will speak about creating vigils and rituals for before and after death that include the healing arts.

This free class is offered virtually or in-person in partnership with Welcome Home of Chattanooga.

About Welcome Home of Chattanooga:

Welcome Home of Chattanooga’s mission is to create a community of hope, healing, and compassion for those who are facing a serious illness or death and need safe shelter.

Welcome Home of Chattanooga recognizes that historically marginalized populations have not always received equal treatment in healthcare. We are committed to ensuring the inclusivity, respect, and dignity of all patients, staff, volunteers, and community members. Our commitment means we continue to learn, educate, grow, and champion causes of justice toward honoring each individual with quality and equitable end-of-life and cancer care.

All should live and die surrounded by love and compassionate care. We believe that everyone has purpose, and when undergoing a life-threatening illness, everyone should know that they are important and will be remembered.
