Get ready to unleash your inner artist and mold your own ceramic pinch pot and rose at this fun and creative pottery workshop!

In this hands-on class, you will learn the art of pinch pot pottery by shaping clay into a small, functional vessel. You'll then bring your creation to life by sculpting and attaching a delicate rose, stem, and leaf—adding a personal, botanical touch. Each piece will be finished with a warm, cream, glossy glaze and a red rose that’s not only beautiful but also food-safe.

Please note: Pieces will be ready for pickup from The Chattery 6-8 weeks after the class concludes.

About the teacher:

April Anne Kay from Muddy Hands Happy Hearts Pottery has been manipulating clay since 1999. She took a hand-building class in college and a wheel-throwing class in 2004. She mainly taught herself by watching others, asking questions, YouTube videos, and a passionate desire in her heart to create with clay. Her studio name was derived from when her hands are muddy, she has a happy heart! She settled in Chattanooga in 2009 after finishing her education and post-doctoral studies at Auburn University.

April's main role in our community is in service as a Biology Professor at a local college, which satisfies her left brain, yet her right brain dances when she creates with clay. And her heart tickles when she gets to share her craft with others.
