Join Melissa Astin to learn a new (or elevated!) collage technique -- torn paper.
In this class, you’ll learn to tear paper to create a beautiful and fun collage. This technique can be used in mixed media art, junk journaling and more.
Melissa's teaching style is easy-going in all CAPS. And! If you're worried you need to be an "artist" to join this class, sweep that worry right out the door. All you need is the desire to get out of the house and learn something new.
Supply Note: Each participant is asked to bring a cereal box -- all other supplies are provided.
About the teacher:
Melissa Astin has lived in Chattanooga for 10+ years -- and is shocked by how quickly a decade has passed. Though Melissa should claim her kids first, she is first and foremost enamored with her felines, Puma Britches and Franklin. Those felines don't roll their eyes at her, and they return her texts. That said, her kids are great too, and she claims them most of the time. Mixed media collage has been her art form for nearly 25 years, and when she's not working her day job at ArtsBuild or dressing up cats in bowties, you can find her with a plethora of torn paper around her.
