Are you ready to take your watercolor practice to the next level in a casual setting? BYOB & join us!
This class offers a relaxed and exploratory environment with less step-by-step instruction and a greater emphasis on creativity and individual style. This class is open to anyone wanting to learn, however, some (minimal) prior watercolor experience or completion of at least one of Lindsey Prince's previous classes (Watercolor 101 or Watercolor 102) is recommended, as basic techniques will not be covered. The focus of the class will be on exploring texture and applying more advanced watercolor techniques through painting a still life.
The instructor will select a simple still-life subject in advance—such as a piece of fruit or a flower—and prepare it for display. We will begin by discussing best practices, advanced techniques, and a creative roadmap to guide your process. Students will then work at their own pace, creating their own unique pieces based on the still-life subject. Throughout the session, the instructor will offer individualized guidance, help refine techniques, and encourage creative exploration in a supportive, informal setting.
Supplies: All materials will be provided and shared. An assortment of watercolor mediums will be available for use. If you have your own supplies please feel free to bring and use them! Everyone will go home with a completed painting to enjoy.
About the instructor:
Lindsey Prince is a self-taught artist who likes to explore things in new and unconventional ways. She is also a small business owner and operator. Following the "rules" has never been her favorite way to do things, and her artwork is no different. Her love for drawing and painting began with a high school art class, where she was introduced to the purpose and exhilaration of creation and self-expression through art. She has since worked for years developing her own style.
She resides in North Georgia, just over the state line from Chattanooga, TN with her husband and two boys. While Lindsey works mostly in watercolor and some sculpture/3-D art she remains an avid craft enthusiast of all kinds.
