Fungus Among Us: A Fungi Hike at Greenway Farms

One of the best ways to learn about a topic is to see and experience it in real life! This program will take you into the woods with local environmental educator and mycologist, Skye Webb. Late Summer is prime time in Appalachia to see the fungal fruiting bodies of many species. Come take a slow walk to find local species, learn the difference between mushroom types, and gain experience in using identification apps!

About the teacher:

Skye Webb is a professor at Chattanooga State Community College and a Chattanooga native. Her higher education began in Chemistry until she moved on to earn her master’s degree in environmental science at UTC. She is a naturalist, mycologist, and environmental educator. Skye loves all things fungi almost as much as she loves teaching people about it!
